Barcodegen for Chrome — オフラインのバーコード拡張
ブラウザ内でバーコードと QR コードを生成 — アップロードもアカウントも通信も不要。
The extension is not published to any browser store yet; this page describes the planned feature set. Until it ships, the web generator already runs entirely inside your browser.
Fully offline
The encoders ship with the extension, so symbols are built on your machine and nothing is uploaded.
No host permissions
The extension requests no access to the sites you visit, so it cannot read page content by design.
No account
No sign-up, no login, no tracking. Preferences such as default format and export size stay in local storage.
PNG and SVG export
PNG at 2×–8× module width for print, or SVG that scales without limits.
How it will work
Install once
Once published, install from the browser store and pin it to your toolbar.
Right-click or press Alt+B
Select any text and right-click to generate, or right-click a link to encode its URL. Alt+B opens a blank generator.
Copy or download
Copy the PNG to your clipboard for documents and slides, or download PNG/SVG for print.
Planned symbologies
QR Code
Any text or URL up to about 2,900 characters, with error correction from L to H.
EAN-13 / UPC-A / EAN-8
Retail barcodes with correct GS1 check digits, guard bars and grouped human-readable digits.
Code 128
Full ASCII for SKUs, serial numbers and shipping labels, with automatic code-set switching.
Code 39
Industrial barcode for warehouse and asset labels.
ITF-14
Outer-carton barcode with the correct start and stop patterns.
Who it is for
Retail and inventory teams
Spot a GTIN on a page, right-click, and get a correctly structured EAN-13 or ITF-14 label.
Developers and QA
Encode test tickets, URLs and serials while working — nothing from an internal system is uploaded.
Privacy-conscious users
Patient IDs, order numbers and internal links belong in a generator that cannot phone home.
Teachers and presenters
Copy a QR code straight into a slide or handout — one gesture, no file management.
Frequently asked questions
Is the extension really offline?+
Offline operation is the design goal: encoders are bundled, the extension requests no host permissions and makes no network requests.
What do the permissions do?+
The plan is to use only storage (local preferences) and contextMenus (right-click menu), with no site access at all.
Does it work on Microsoft Edge?+
Yes. Edge is Chromium-based, and the plan is to list on both the Chrome Web Store and Edge Add-ons.
How large can the input be?+
It depends on the symbology: QR takes about 2,900 characters, while Code 128 is limited by label width — a few hundred characters is a practical ceiling.
Can I use the barcodes commercially?+
Yes, it is free for personal and commercial use. Verify against your industry specification before production printing.
When will it be available?+
The extension is still in development and not listed in any store yet. Follow the GitHub repository for release progress.
